Best GPS I’ve owned so far

This product is excellent, and blows my Magellan RoadMate 1470 out of the water!

Pros -
~You can download new voices (although there are only a few at this time). My Magellan has only one voice.
~You can download new vehicle images (lots of them). My Magellan only has one vehicle.
~Data logging. The logging automatically builds a .csv file that you can open in Excel. This file includes Date, start time, origin location, destination location, mileage driven, time driving from A to B, etc. If you have a job like mine, you have to report your mileage for reimbursement. This feature is also great for self-employed people who log mileage for tax reasons.
~Fuel economy calculation – when you fill up at the gas station, you log your gas price, how many miles you drove and how many gallons filled. The Garmin keeps a spreadsheet of these values and figures your average. It uses this average in calculating your consumption, carbon footprint (Al Gore would be proud), etc.
~Mapsource – This is a program you download from the Garmin site. In a word: “AWESOME”. This allows you to EDIT your maps! You can add points of interest, etc. (unfortunately cannot import a spreadsheet of favorites).

Cons -
~Waypoints can act funny. When you set a destination, and then add a waypoint (like a gas station), you cannot deviate from your course. If it needs to recalculate, the waypoint disappears.
~Routing – Occasionally, this unit will direct me to take a route that does not make sense. For example, if I’m going to point B, and I know the route is quicker if I stay on the freeway. It has directed me to take an exit, travel on surface streets and then get back on the freeway. And it’s not because of the traffic mod – I don’t have traffic available in my location.
~Can’t import a spreadsheet of Favorites. Using the Mapsource program, you can add points of interest one at a time. I haven’t (yet) found a way to import an entire spreadsheet of locations. With my job, I can get a spreadsheet of all customers in my territory. It would be invaluable for me to be able to add all my customers in one shot. Right now, I am adding them as I visit them.
~Does not always display points of interest as you drive. Unless you have a point of interest set as your destination, the unit does not display points of interest while you drive around.
